(KNOX) -The Grand Forks Growth Fund has a new chair and vice chair.
Grand Forks City Attorney Dan Gaustad outlined the process to the committee.
“The chairperson can only be the three members of the city council who are on the Growth Fund Committee. Once you have the chairperson elected then the vice chair is elected. And anybody is eligible. All seven members of the committee are eligible to serve as vice chair,” Gaustad explained to the committee.
City Council Member Mike Fridolfs was elected chair and committee member Jonathan Holth vice chair.
Gaustad said that there is a Grand Forks City ordinance that requires the Growth Fund Committee to elect a chair and vice chair.
“Provides that there is to be an election of chairperson and vice chairperson. And it shall be conducted annually,” said Gaustad.
Gaustad said that ordinance state that the election of the chair and vice chair needs to take place after the board of directors of the committee are in place.
“And shall be held at the next meeting of the Growth Fund Committee following the election of the Growth Fund Board of Directors.”
