(KFGO) – BAIL HAS BEEN SET AT ONE-MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL AND LEAVING HER BODY NEAR THE RIVER IN MOORHEAD LAST WEEK. 18-YEAR-OLD ISAAC ARNDT HAS MADE HIS FIRST COURT APPEARANCE IN MOORHEAD. HE WAS ARRESTED IN FARGO ON A MURDER CHARGE.
HE FACES UP TO 40 YEARS IN PRISON FOR SECOND-DEGREE MURDER FOR THE STABBING DEATH OF 14-YEAR-OLD JAELYN WALKER.
IN MINNESOTA, A FIRST-DEGREE MURDER CHARGE CAN ONLY BE FILED AFTER A GRAND JURY INDICTMENT.
WALKER WOULD HAVE STARTED SCHOOL AS A FRESHMAN THIS WEEK. COURT DOCUMENTS SAY ARNDT ADMITTED TO POLICE THAT HE STABBED HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND 13 TIMES.
HE INITIALLY CLAIMED THEY HAD BEEN FOLLOWED IN GOOSEBERRY PARK. DURING THE INVESTIGATION ARNDT ADMITTED TO CUTTING WALKER’S THROAT, GIVING HER A HUG, STABBING HER ONE MORE TIME IN THE BACK AND DRAGGING HER BODY TO THE RIVER BEFORE LEAVING THE SCENE.
