(KNOX) -Grand Forks Police Department Officers assisted a Trail County Deputy and North Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers in the pursuit of a fleeing motor vehicle.
During the course of the incident, the suspect vehicle struck a Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle which caused the suspect vehicle to lose control where it came to a rest after running into a Grand Forks Police Department squad car at the intersection of Cherry St. and 28th Ave S.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, a Shawn Bjerke, was placed under arrest for the following offenses: reckless endangerment, fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and DUI.
Bjerke was transported to the Grand Forks Correctional Center after being treated for minor injuries at Altru Hospital. The Grand Forks Police Department was assisted by C.A.R.T. in processing the crash scene.
