(KNOX) -Around 6 o’clock Tuesday evening the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched to 91 Parkview Circle for a report of a fire alarm with smoke.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find active flames on the first floor and smoke throughout the residence.
The fire was quickly extinguished with moderate fire damage isolated to the kitchen.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental due to unattended cooking.
The occupants of the residence were displaced due to the fire and are being assisted by family.
The Grand Forks Fire Department responded with five engines, one truck, one command vehicle, and 19 personnel.
There were no injuries to the occupants or fire service personnel.
The Fire Department was assisted by Altru Ambulance and the Grand Forks Police Department.
The Grand Forks Fire Department would like to remind residents to never leave cooking unattended.
