Grand Forks Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

(KNOX) -On Monday morning at about 3:30 officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to 1220 University Avenue for a robbery in progress.

The suspect has been identified as Ian Kramchuck, 20. He reportedly entered the location armed with a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.

Kramchuck threatened the staff members on site and a struggle ensued. The weapon was forcefully taken away from Kramchuck by employees and he was restrained until officers arrived and Kramchuck was taken into custody.

Kramchuck refused to identify himself to law enforcement and was transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center after being placed under arrest for armed robbery, terrorizing, and physical obstruction of a government function.

There was no known threat to the public during the altercation. No individuals were injured throughout this incident.
