(KNOX) -The Grand Valley Pedestrian Study will look at the undeveloped, but growing area of south Grand Forks.
Connor Cox of the firm Bolton and Menk said that the study looks at everything.
“Sort of a planning level cost estimates. So it gives the city and its partners an understanding of what it would take to implement these projects,” Cox said.
The study covers pedestrian safety in the area. “It may recommend to improve safety are things like signage or roadway markings to really call attention to pedestrian crossings. Or just making lighting enhancements at certain locations,” Cox said.
Cox said that the time line of the study is speedy.
“We really kicked this study off a couple of months ago in June. We have steering committee meetings monthly. We plan to wrap-up the study in December. So it is a fairly quick moving study.”
Cox said that the study is a proactive approach before the south area of Grand Forks expands.
