(KNOX) -Grand Forks City Council approved changes to on-street parking in downtown at their meeting Monday evening.
Grand Forks City Administrator Todd Feland said that some changes to overnight signage will be done.

“When you get after 1 o’clock onward then it’s more snow removal for those operations. That is done for those reasons, and is ticketed by the police department,” Feland said.

Feland said that the signs would change, indicating what days that there would be parking restrictions. “We’re going to change those signs to Monday through Wednesdays, and then Tuesdays and Thursdays on the avenues.”

The Planning and Community Development and Engineering Departments sought the adjustments to on-street parking operations of certain areas in the northeast portion of downtown in Grand Forks.

The changes were wanted in order to better meet anticipated parking demand and facilitate the success of businesses in that area.
