(KNOX) – U.S. Senator John Hoeven has introduced legislation declaring today, July 27, as the National Day of the American Cowboy to honor the continuing legacy and contributions of cowboys across the United States.
Day 2 of the 2024 Cats Incredible Fishing Tournament is underway. More than 65 teams of anglers will be on the Red River until 4 p.m. with the chance to weigh in their top-five catfish, two of which can be longer than 24 inches.
The Blue Angels are the featured flight Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Fargo Airsho…which features the Blue Angels’ first female jet demonstration pilot, Lieutenant Commander Amanda Lee.
Monday is the 66th anniversary of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is the civilian agency responsible for coordinating America’s activities in space.
James Buchli has been to space… and how! On Tuesday, the astronaut will receive the Theodore Roosevelt Roughrider Award, North Dakota’s highest civilian honor, at 10 a.m. in UND’s Robin Hall. After his space missions, Buchli became a strong supporter of UND and its aerospace school…and he’s maintained that support for decades.
The 41st annual We Fest at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota opens Wednesday with the traditional scramble to the seats during the William Tell Overture… followed by a kick off concert… and three days of music.
UND hosts a pre k-12 STEM Conference for teachers from North Dakota and Minnesota from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, August 1 inside the Memorial Union. The conference will offer 28 professional learning sessions. All educators are eligible for continuing education credit through UND.
Next Friday is summer graduation day for up to 535 University of North Dakota students. They’ll get their sheepskins at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center. Chuck Haga, veteran journalist and adjunct professor for the Department of Communication, will be the guest speaker.
