(KNOX) -The Meehan Aviation Group said that the City of Grand Forks is applying for a Small Community Air Service grant that would be used for the Grand Forks International Airport (GFK) to attract more flights to the airport.
Zoe Lindemuth of Meehan said that if the grant is approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation that a legacy airline could begin air service to Denver from GFK. “Denver United is our top choice. Also United Chicago. Maybe American Chicago. Maybe United Chicago. United is our top choice at this point, to Denver,” Lindemuth recently told the Grand Forks City Council.
The Meehan Aviation Group has been hired by the City of Grand Forks to try and get more flights out of GFK. “It is a task that is part of a larger effort being led by the mayor to step up the aggressive efforts for air service expansion. And to really put into a sort of high level in front of the public, how important to our community. And getting more of it,” Sonjia Murray of the Meehan Group said.
