(KNOX) – Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced North Dakota fullback/tight end Jaden Norby as a nominee for the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team on Wednesday. Norby is one of 178 student-athletes recommended by their coaches as a member of the team for investing time playing college football, attending school full-time and giving back to the community.
“You’ll never regret making someone else’s life better,” said Tim Tebow, a two-time national champion, Heisman Trophy winner, 2008 Wuerffel Trophy recipient, and 2009 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team member. “Year after year, I’m inspired by these incredible nominees who go above and beyond to help others.”
Norby appeared in all 12 games as either a tight end or fullback in 2023 and received seven starts. He hauled in five grabs for 56 yards and a touchdown, while averaging 11.20 yards per catch. His lone touchdown was a 19-yard reception in the 45-31 victory at Murray State. His blocking helped UND rank No. 2 in the MVFC and No. 3 nationally in completion percentage (70.3) and Fighting Hawk quarterbacks also had the No. 14 passing efficiency rating (153.02) in the country with the help of his blocking. He also excelled in the classroom, earning honorable mention All-MVFC status and was named to the MVFC President’s Council Academic Excellence Team.
The Ashby, Minn., native, is no stranger to the community and has volunteered 310.5 hours of community service. He is involved in Holiday Magic from Markus, the Grand Forks Membership Center Program, The Big Event, Night to Shine with the Tim Tebow Foundation, Special Olympics, UND’s SAAC Pen Pal Program, Be the Match – Get in the Game (National Marrow Donor Program), the Grand Forks Mentorship Center Program and volunteers at the Northlands Rescue Mission. He is the first UND football student-athlete to eclipse 300 hours of community service since the university started tracking the hours in 2012.
