(KNOX) -The Meehan Aviation Group has been hired by the City of Grand Forks to try and attract more flights to the Grand Forks International Airport (GFK.)
The Meehan Group’s Zoe Lindemuth said that they are getting positive feedback from United Airlines in their efforts to land a flight from the Grand Forks International Airport to Denver. “Denver, United is our top choice. Also United, Chicago. Maybe American, Chicago. But United is our top choice at this point to Denver,” said Lindemuth.
Sonjia Murray of the Meehan Group was recently in Grand Forks and gave an update on their work. “It is a task that is part of a larger effort being led by the mayor to step up the aggressive efforts for air service expansion and to really put into a sort of visible high level in front of the public, how important air service is to our community. And getting more of it,” said Murray.
“We have Sky West Airlines which is a long time code share partner with United Airlines. They are the regional carrier that operates for them. Their reginal fleet. They have written us a letter,” Lindemuth said.
Work is also being done to get Delta, the only legacy airline at the Grand Forks International Airport, to add a fourth flight from GFK.
Delta and low cost airline Allegiant are the two carriers with flights at Grand Forks International Airport.
