(KNOX) -Members of the local United Steelworkers Union and others rallied Tuesday afternoon outside of Edgewood Healthcare headquarters in downtown Grand Forks, to support union workers at Edgewood Healthcare owned Sierra Hills in Cheyenne Wyoming.

Tom Ricker is with the local steelworkers union. “February of this year 45 employees voted yes to join the union, the Steelworkers. And they started negotiating, but we’ve had all kinds of problems,” Ricker said.

“We’re here to show our support for those 45 members at the Sierra Hills facility and that we want a fair contract,” said Ricker.

Edgewood Healthcare is home to over 3,700 residents in 63 communities across seven states.

According to their website Edgewood prides itself on being a big, small company deeply rooted in the upper Midwest and Northern Great Plains. And that they are large enough to provide all the benefits of a full-service senior healthcare company, yet small enough for each community team to be involved in each resident’s day-to-day life. The website said that the Edgewood difference is about improving lives and being there when they are needed.

Edgewood Healthcare has their headquarters at 402 DeMers Avenue in in downtown Grand Forks.
