(KNOX) –
The City of Grand Forks Community Advisory Committee is hearing what the community wants to improve their way of life.
Collin Hanson is the chairman of the working group. “The committee is here to hear from the residents and citizens of Grand Forks on these needs,” said Hanson.
Committee member Tori Johnson is a retired educator and administrator of the Grand Forks School District feels that schools need to be at the top of what they do to make Grand Forks a desirable place for families. “I can remember people calling me and saying, from other cities moving to Grand Forks, where should we move, what part of town should we move in? And I’d say why? And they would say we want this for our child. And I’d say it is available in any of the buildings,” Johnson said.
Hanson said that his committee needs to hear the concerns of the public. “Regarding the city’s five year strategic plan which is known as the Consolidated Plan. As well as the 2025 Annual Action Plan. And the analysis of the impediments to fair housing choice,” Hanson said.
One more public hearing will be held by the committee.
The Grand Forks Community Advisory Committee will make recommendations to city council.
