Walz touring flood damaged towns along I-90

(AP) – More than 3 million people live in areas touched by flooding, from Omaha, Nebraska, to St. Paul, Minnesota.
Flooding has been reported in 40 of Minnesota’s 87 counties.
Outside Mankato, Minnesota, the sheriff’s office said there was a “partial failure” of the western support structure for the Rapidan Dam on the Blue Earth River after the dam became plugged with debris. The dam is still intact and there are no plans for mass evacuation.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar are taking an aerial tour of southern Minnesota today, especially the flooding along Interstate 90.
President Joe Biden has issued a federal disaster declaration for 22 flooded Iowa counties.
