(KNOX) – U.S. Border Patrol agents seized dozens of abandoned guns and accessories near the Canadian border in northeast North Dakota in mid-May.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents were responding to a report of suspicious activity west of the Neche Port of Entry when they saw two people sneaking across the border into Canada.
With the help of a K-9, the agents found three abandoned backpacks with a total of 65 handguns, two rifles, 65 pistol magazines, two rifle magazines, and a suppressor.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms now has the guns and accessories and will investigate the incident.
