(KNOX) – A construction zone on Interstate 94 near Jamestown was the site of two crashes less than a half-hour apart.
A 2021 Nissan Rogue driven by 21-year-old Alessandra Reynolds of West Fargo attempted to merge back onto eastbound I-94 when she struck several crash barrels and overturned. The vehicle came to rest blocking eastbound traffic.
Reynolds sustained minor injuries from the crash… and was cited for careless driving.
As rain began falling 25 minutes later, Cora Smith slowed for traffic from the previous crash. Her Jeep Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a semi driven by 79-year-old Robert Dieterle of Bismarck.
Smith was treated for minor injuries at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Charges for Robert Dieterle are pending investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Traffic on I-94 was shut down for about 1 hour while responders worked to remove vehicles and clear the roadway of debris from both crashes.
