(KNOX) – Ground was broken this morning in Bismarck for a new $70-million North Dakota State Lab.
Governor Doug Burgum says the new State Laboratory will allow for safer and more efficient workflow… while also enhancing capabilities to respond effectively to emerging public health challenges and environmental threats.
The 100,000 square foot lab will be located northeast of the Capitol and serve as a hub for consultation, training and testing services related to infectious diseases, water quality monitoring and disaster response.
It’s being built with federal funds and will be staffed by 50 team members. Construction will start this month.
