(KNOX) – U.S. Senator John Hoeven is introducing the Federal Agriculture Risk Management Enhancement and Resilience…or (FARMER) Act, to strengthen crop insurance and make higher levels of coverage more affordable for producers.
What Hoeven wants included in the farm bill would increase premium support for higher levels of crop insurance coverage…improve the Supplemental Coverage Option.
The bill would direct the Risk Management Agency to study the effectiveness of SCO in large counties…while giving producers flexibility to make decisions that work best for their operations.
Hoeven is a ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.
