By Doug Barrett Apr 7, 2024 | 8:09 PM

An 84 year old Carpio (ND) man was killed in a train vs pedestrian collision this afternoon (Sunday).  The North Dakota Patrol says the fatality occurred on the tracks along Highway 52 approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Carpio. Authorities say a southbound Canadian Pacific Train operator noticed a tractor near the tracks approximately 1⁄2 mile away. As the operator sounded the horn the male was observed standing on the side of the tracks. The NDHP says the operator continued to sound the horn. The train struck the male resulting in fatal injuries. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.
