The winner of this year’s North Dakota spelling bee is a familiar name in the competition circuit. Luna Gasevic picked up the honors – for the third year in a row. Monday’s competition in Bismarck started with 96 spellers. Gasevic is an 8th grade student at Ben Franklin Middle School in Fargo. It is her last state bee event since she is an 8th grader. The runner up award went to Merryn Johnson of the Discovery School in Cass County.
