Grand Forks police have identified the victim of an early morning stabbing as 24-year old Anfernee Economy.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of 36th Avenue South shortly after 3:00 a.m. on a report of a physical disturbance. When they arrived on scene they found the Grand Forks man on the ground with an apparent stab wound to his upper torso.
Authorities say it appears two groups of people were involved in a fight and Economy was stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year old male suspect was arrested and is being charged with AA Felony Murder. His name is not being released at this time due to being a juvenile. The AA Felony Murder charge is punishable by up to life in prison without parole.
It was the second time police were called to the complex. Police logs show officers responded to a domestic call just before 2:22 a.m. that same morning. No report was taken.
The GFPD says all the parties involved were known to each other. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the GFPD.
