High-speed pursuit ends in arrest

(KNOX) – A vehicle pursuit Sunday in Grand Forks County reached speeds between 70 and 100 miles per hour… and ended with an arrest.
At about 9:15 p.m. Sunday, a deputy traveling on County Road 6 just west of Grand Forks had a vehicle traveling at 92 miles per hour in the 55 zone.
The vehicle turned north and east on gravel roads… before heading east on 47th Avenue South, a gravel road West of the Interstate, still at a high rate of speed.
This road ends in a T-intersection as it meets Interstate 29. Upon approaching, the suspect vehicle drove through the interstate fence and went airborne, coming to rest partially on the shoulder of I-29.
The driver fled on foot and was eventually apprehended.
The suspect is identified as Benjamin Pawlowski of Devils Lake. Pawlowski was evaluated by Altru and transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional center where he was confined.
Pawlowski faces a fourth DUI offense in 15 years…fleeing a police officer in a vehicle while fleeing from a felony… Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving under suspension, speeding, Reckless Endangerment, Refusal to Halt, and Driving without headlamps when required.
He was also confined on two active Cass County warrants and two active Clay County warrants.
