Bids on the new Valley Middle School project are under budget.
The Grand Forks School Board Finance Committee reviewed the construction costs this week setting a recommended maximum priced of just under $42.3 million dollars. That’s about $6 million under construction estimates. The lower figure will give the full board the option of adding some alternatives back into the project when they meet on Monday.
Voters approved a $79 million dollar referendum in May – including $55 million for the new school. Groundbreaking is tentatively set for Valley Middle in May – with a winter of 2025 completion date.
