(KNOX) –
An East Grand Forks Sacred Heart student is returning to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC in May.
Seventh-grader Jaden Go competed against 31 other winning spellers in grades 5 through 8 from 26 schools in the regional competition, held February 7 at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls.
All spellers participated in a written round in the morning, and the top 15 advanced to an oral round in the afternoon.
Last year, Jaden Go was the first alternate to the national competition.
