Polk County abduction investigation

The Polk County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation after a teenage girl was found tied up along a roadside south of East Grand Forks on Monday.

Authorities say a local resident discovered the 17 year old along 410th Avenue SW in Bygland Township around 4:30 p.m. The female told deputies she was abducted and left at the location.

The PCSO says the girl was checked and medically cleared by Altru Ambulance crew members.

Investigators are working to determine if there is a current threat to the public or if this is an isolated incident.
