Carbon Monoxide Blamed in NW MN Death

By Doug Barrett Jan 23, 2024 | 9:45 AM

Carbon Monoxide poisoning is being blamed in the death of a 37-year old man found unresponsive in a fish house on Norcross Lake near White Earth over the weekend.

The White Earth Tribal Police Department has identified the victim as Nathan Ray of Borup (MN). Authorities were asked to perform a welfare check on Saturday and discovered the victim.

Carbon monoxide is an odorless…tasteless…and invisible gas produced when fuel is burned. The department says every ice shelter should have a carbon monoxide detector.
