The interim tag has been removed from Colby Braun’s title as director of the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Governor Doug Burgum made the appointment official today (Thursday). Braun has served as interim director of DOCR since January 1st…assuming the role after the retirement of former DOCR director Dave Krabbenhoft.
He previously served for nearly five years as warden of the North Dakota State Penitentiary, four years as DOCR’s director of transitional facilities and six years as warden of the Dakota Women’s Correctional and Rehabilitation Center.
