Swatting calls target GF schools

By Doug Barrett Jan 18, 2024 | 6:25 PM

Central and Red River were the latest Grand Forks schools to be subject to so-called swatting calls.

The “hoax” calls were made shortly after 1:00 p.m. and placed both high schools into a “lockdown” while instruction continued.  A large law enforcement presence was observed at both campuses.

The lockdown was lifted about 45 minutes later.  The incident remains under investigation.  School was dismissed at the normal time.

A number of schools across the state were victims of similar calls today (Thursday).  No credible threats were found.
