Officer involved shooting near EGF

An officer involved shooting near East Grand Forks on Tuesday left one man dead.

The East Grand Forks Police Department…along with the Polk County Sheriff’s Department…and Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force attempted to execute a search warrant at a residence in Rhinehart Township. Law enforcement arrived on the scene before noon to execute a warrant. Authorities say at one point the suspect exited the home and then returned into the residence. As an officer followed the suspect inside shots were fired.

The Polk County S-O says the suspect was transported to Altru Hospital. The Minnesota BCA confirms the death. No names have been released.

The PCSO says it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
The Minnesota BCA says more information will be released at a later date.
