A locally damaging ice storm is moving into eastern North Dakota and parts of northwestern Minnesota. Ice accumulation will continue into Tuesday. Travel is expected to be difficult with tree damage and power outages possible. Stay tuned to changing conditions.
10 AM: The City of Grand Forks says roads in town are extremely icy. Crews have the main and secondary roads treated … but residential roads, parking lots and sidewalks are very icy. Motorists are asked to drive slowly. Officials say garbage crews are picking up garbage — but Waste Management will not pick up recycling today due to icy conditions.

Outside the Grand Forks area, to the west, north and east, a winter weather advisory has been extended to MIDNIGHT.
NDDOT (12:55 PM): Steele County is now under a no-travel advisory.

Waste Management has informed the City of Grand Forks that they will not be picking up recycling today due to the icy conditions. Waste Management plans to make up the missed recycling pick up later in the week.
