Rail Passenger Grant Secured

Efforts to restore rail service on Amtrak’s North Coast Hiawatha Chicago to Seattle route is picking up steam. The Federal Rail Administration has announced a $500,000 dollar grant to the Big Sky Passenger rail Authority for development of rail corridors. The route could restore service to several North Dakota cities including Jamestown…Bismarck/Mandan…and Dickinson. The route was abandoned in 1979. The Corridor Identification and Development funds are part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
