Without discussion the North Dakota Board of Higher Education (Thursday) approved UND’s request to raze a number of campus buildings. The buildings include the Hyslop Sports Center…Johnston / Fulton / Smith residence halls…Upson II…Witmer…and Starcher Hall. UND officials says removal of Hyslop will help pave the way for a new science corridor. The planned STEM development will happen in phases over the next 6-8 years. Razing the buildings will also eliminate capital renewal needs estimated at some $139 million dollars.
