The Grand Forks Police Department gained a new officer on Thursday afternoon.
K-9 Hart and his handler Cpl. John Klingbeil were sworn in. K-9 Hart is an 18 month old German Shepard. Before coming to the GFPD the duo underwent a 14 week class at the McDonough course. The team trained on a variety of skills from tracking and building searches to locating evidence and suspect apprehension.
K-9 Hart joins fellow four legged officers Shelby…Riot…and Kade in the department.
