The gap between the “yes” and the “no” votes in this month’s special Grand Forks sales tax election just got a little wider – but barely.
A canvassing of the November 14th election this week (Monday) added one additional vote to the prevailing side – putting the final tally at 2,359 to 1,190.
The ballot removes the sunset provision for the tax in 2029. It shifts a portion of the .75% tax from the Alerus Center to a multi-sports complex and aquatics facility.
The city council will review the vote outcome on December 4th.
