Construction hasn’t started yet but talks are already underway on when to transition students over to the new Valley Middle School.
Architects briefed members of the Grand Forks School Board last night (Monday) on the latest design plans and materials that will be featured in the build.
Allie Stevens of ICON Architects says the project is currently in the construction document phase of planning. “A bid date in February…starting construction in the spring…19 months of construction ending in the winter of 2025.”
Stevens says if construction wraps up in the November-December time frame it could accelerate moving students into the new building. “We have had conversations with the district about transitioning into the new building over winter break. If we are unable to do that… yes…we would look ay spring or summer.
Voters approved the construction project as part of the $79 million dollar referendum election in May.
