An officer involved shooting in Bismarck has left a 17 year old male dead.
Bismarck police responded to a call of shots fired around 12:15 a.m. Multiple 911 reports of gunfire in the area of the Everspring Hotel. During the course of the investigation it was determined a 17 year old suspect allegedly fired a gun in the direction of another juvenile who was not injured.
Authorities say shortly before 2:00 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle the suspect was a passenger in near the Kirkwood Mall. The BPD says the teen had a firearm and did not follow police commands. According to police the individual was shot by three officers. Law enforcement began life-saving measures but the male was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The investigation has been turned over to the North Dakota BCI. All three officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
