GFPD arrests GF driver after pursuit

A 38 year old Grand Forks man faces numerous charges after fleeing police during a routine traffic stop last night (Wednesday).

Grand Forks police say shortly after 10:00 p.m. officers attempted to pull a driver over on the 1600 block of South 16th Street. Authorities say the suspect refused to stop. Officers terminated the pursuit on the 1200 block of Walnut Street for safety reasons. During the chase the suspect sideswiped an unoccupied vehicle causing minor damage.

A short time late the suspect vehicle was located on the 600 block of Cottonwood Street. Officers searched the area and found the male attempting to hide.

The GFPD says charges include fleeing…reckless endangerment…leaving the scene of an accident…driving under revocation…and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. There were no injuries.
