A fire south of East Grand Forks caused severe damage to a residential home early Monday morning. The East Grand Forks Fire Department responded to the call in Bygland Township shortly after midnight. When crews arrived on scene they found smoke coming from the exterior of the structure. Firefighters extinguished the flames and determined the fire originated around the dishwasher in the kitchen area. The cause was ruled undetermined but unintentional. Damage was put at around $100,000 dollars. One family was displaced. There were no injuries.
