Crookston man dies when car enters Red Lake River (Update)

Update 2:00 PM:

Polk County authorities say a 26-year-old man died when his car went into the Red Lake River in Crookston early this (Fri) morning.

The County Sheriff’s office identified the man as William Mark Tuseth of Crookston.

Officials say an autopsy is being performed. No foul play is suspected.

A 2010 Chevy Impala was recovered from the river around 2:30 this morning. A witness said the vehicle left the road near the north end of the Red Lake River Bridge. Tuseth was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Members of the Grand Forks County Dive Team assisted Crookston Police at the scene.

The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.

Members of the Grand Forks County Dive Team are assisting Crookston police in an attempt to locate a vehicle in the Red Lake River.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department and CPD responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in Crookston shortly before 2:30 this morning. A witness stated the vehicle left the road near the north end of the Red Lake River Bridge.
Deputies and officers discovered damage consistent with the report.
No information on any occupants of the vehicle have been released.
