Man Sentenced for running a ND drug ring

A 29-year old Detroit (MI) man has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for running a drug trafficking operation that targeted two of North Dakota’s Indian Reservations. Devonsha Dabney pleaded guilty to Criminal Enterprise.

This case is part of “Operation Letter to Reub,” an Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation into the multi-state trafficking of oxycodone and fentanyl laced pills.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says earlier this month an accomplice – Jonathan B. Walker – was sentenced to 180 months incarceration. Jonathan Walker pled guilty to various drug trafficking offenses.

A total of 41 defendants have been charged in the case.

U.S Attorney Mac Schneider says “Drug traffickers who think Indian country is a soft target because of a perceived lack of law enforcement resources ought to think again.”
