For the first time since 2017, UND’s fall enrollment has passed the 14,000 mark. This fall’s official number is 14,172 students. That’s 296 more than last fall, or a jump of 2.13 percent.

Officials say the new figure marks the University’s fourth consecutive year of total enrollment growth, and the strongest growth — in both absolute terms and percentage figures — in more than 10 years.

Enrollment of new freshmen from North Dakota increased by more than 8%.

Total Undergraduate Enrollment rose to 10,216, up 288 students or 2.9% from last year’s figure.

The number of new transfer students is up more than 10%, with 1,015 enrolling.

UND’s retention rate of first-time, full-time students also increased to nearly 83%, up from 78.87% for the previous year.

UND vice president of student affairs Art Malloy says, “The University…has been intentional in focusing on the student experience, and fully expects higher retention and upward enrollment trends.”
