The Grand Forks Fire Department received a little public support in extinguishing a house fire on Wednesday. The GFFD was dispatched to 310 North 8th Street around 3:00 p.m. for a fire on the exterior of a home. When crews arrived they found the flames were already put out by citizens passing by the scene. The department checked to see if there was any extension into the home and determined the fire was contained to the outside of the structure. The Red Cross is assisting residents who were displaced. There were no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
