Fewer students are hitting the books in the Grand Forks School District for the start of the 2023-24 year.
Enrollment numbers for K-12 total 7,421 – or down 68 from one year ago. While there were slight gains among the middle and high school grades – they were offset by losses at the elementary levels.
The numbers also fall short of a demographers report released back in March. RSP and Associates projected this year’s kid count to be just shy of 7,500.
GF Enrollment:
Elementary: 3,398 (-81)
Middle: 1,703 (+1)
High School: 2,320 (+68)
First week enrollment in East Grand Forks (District 595) came in a 1,904. That’s up 36 students from last year for – but is the second lowest tally in the last six years.
