It’s been in the works for months but the Grand Forks council gave preliminary approval last night to an ordinance allowing pedal pubs to roam the streets downtown.
The pub itself would not serve alcohol but allow customers to bring their own beverages on board the ride. The peddle pub would also make stops along the set route for patrons to visit restaurants and bars.
The multi-passenger bicycle would travel at a max speed of 6 mph. Supporters say it’s another tourism tool that would boost the downtown economy.
Final council action is still needed.
