Gov. Tim Walz has ordered all U-S and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise on Friday … to sunset on Saturday… in memory of former Minnesota Governor Al Quie.
Quie served as Minnesota’s 35th Governor from 1979 to 1983.
He died of natural causes on Aug. 19th at the age of 99.
On Friday, Quie’s body will lie in state, from Noon to 3:00 PM, at the State Capitol.
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.
