The Becker County Sheriff’s Department has identified a 25 year old man found dead Friday after fleeing law enforcement during a traffic stop.
The BCSO says a Minnesota State Trooper attempted to pull over a motorcyclist on County Highway 29 around 6:15 p.m. With the emergency lights activated the driver accelerated at a high rate of speed. The trooper lost sight of the motorcycle on County 29.
After searching the area the trooper located the motorcycle where it had left the Highway on a corner of the road about 1.5 miles south of County 54. Authorities says Levi Savela of Sebeka (MN) was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
