Supporters of a Grand Forks Children’s Museum continue to chip away at fundraising for the facility.
The group is currently working to secure a $5 million dollar grant from the North Dakota Tourism Department’s Destination Development Fund. The department will announce the grant awards in November. In addition the museum received $5 million from the legislature and has received over $5 million in private donations to date.
The Grand Forks council will consider a $10 million dollar contribution. The money would include a 2024 Quality of Life initiative…JDA cash on hand….future economic development monies spread over a ten year span…and beautification funds.
Supporters are eyeing a two story…28,000 square building…that would sit on Altru donated land near Choice Health and Fitness.
Site work could begin in 2024 with actual construction getting underway in 2025.
