GF council advances flood fix

By Doug Barrett Aug 10, 2023 | 9:11 AM

Without discussion the Grand Forks council this week agreed to proceed with repairs to the flood wall at an estimated cost of $100.000 dollars. Bids on the work are due back in late August.

A spot inspection of the Grand Forks levee system has revealed a crack in a flood wall near the Sorlie Bridge. The crack was discovered by U.S. Army Corp of Engineers this spring.

The “fix” is expected to be completed by November 1st.

A more thorough inspection of the levee is expected in 2025.
