The Minnesota State Patrol says alcohol appears to have played a role in a single-vehicle crash in Itasca County that injured four occupants, including a Grand Forks man.

It happened Tuesday around 9:00 PM, west of Deer River.

An SUV veered off the right side of County Road 18… then over-corrected… went off the other side of the road…struck railroad tracks… and came to rest on the passenger side.

All four occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol says one passenger, 35-year-old Lance Johnson, is from Grand Forks.

The driver and two other passengers are from Deer River.

All occupants were taken to a Deer River hospital for treatment.
