The National Weather Service has released the final report into the June 24th storm that resulted in multiple tornadoes in northwest Minnesota.
The analysis suggests several supercells and tornadoes hit portions of Norman…Polk…Becker…and Mahnomen counties. The NWS says the strongest and longest tornado damaged a series of farmsteads and downed at least two power poles south of Mahnomen. The EF-2 twister had peak winds of 125 mph along a seven mile path.At least four other “weak” tornadoes occurred in open fields in northwest Becker and Mahnomen counties.
The NWS says at least seven other brief tornadoes with unknown speeds occurred in rural Norman and Polk counties with no damage.
Heavy rainfall generated flash flooding in Clearwater and Pembina counties.
